Śnieżne Kotły at sunset and just after…

Śnieżne Kotły, which translates as Snowy Pits are two glacial pits situated in the Karkonosze National Park, on the Polish side. It’s a very unique example of the alpine landscape in the Karkonosze Mountains and has been a nature reserve since 1933.

On the way to Snowy Pits you pass one of the oldest mountain shelter in the area, called „Pod Łabskim Szczytem”. Its history goes back to 17th century. Even in those days the electricity comes from generator and is available only for few hours a day 🙂
